Mental performance work at Beta Mind Lab is structured, progressive, and deliberately integrated with how you already train. It isn't a one-off conversation or a generic programme — it's built around you, your goals, and where you are right now.

It starts with a conversation

Everything begins with a free 30-minute discovery call.

This isn't a sales pitch and it isn't an assessment. It's an exploration — of where you are, what you're working on, and what might be a useful way forward. I'll ask questions, you'll talk honestly, and by the end of the call we'll both have a clear picture of whether working together makes sense.

If it does, I'll follow up with a proposal outlining what I think would work best for you. If it doesn't — if I think someone else would serve you better — I'll tell you that too.

Three ways to work together

For climbers with something specific to work on — a hard project, a next grade, returning from injury, dealing with failure or performance pressure — or those who want to experience the work before committing long term.

The Focus Block

For climbers who want to fundamentally change how they approach performance and their relationship with the sport.

Sessions are typically weekly. Between sessions you'll have access to messaging support, and we'll work through exercises, journaling, and on-the-wall practice between calls.

The Foundation

How the work is structured

Regardless of which path you take, the work follows the same logic — building from the ground up through four layers.

Foundation

Self-worth, values, and identity that aren't dependent on results. This is where we start. Off-the-wall work — reflection, reframing, and building a genuine sense of inherent worth outside of success and outcomes. Without this layer, everything built on top of it is temporary.

Threat + Identity

Fear of failure, social judgement, outcome attachment. Once the foundation is stable, we work through these systematically — recalibrating your relationship with pressure and discomfort so performance stays functional when it counts.

Execution

Attempt planning, performance routines, decision rules, post-error recovery. Implemented progressively — first in isolation, then in low-stakes environments, then on the wall. Integrated with your physical training, not bolted on separately.

Staying in it for the long game. Building the psychological durability to move through hard seasons, injuries, and plateaus without losing motivation, identity, or the reasons you climb in the first place.

Recovery & Resilience

And we track it. Progress is measured through behaviour — because what we do is a direct reflection of how we think. We build the metrics together based on what you're working on, so progress is visible and concrete, not just felt.
